JCOU-ICCDU Young Scientist Award

The Journal of CO₂ Utilization of Elsevier and the 21^st International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Utilization would like to call for applications and nominations for the “JCOU-ICCDU Young Scientist Award”.

The JCOU-ICCDU Young Scientist Award is dedicated to recognizing and encouraging promising young researchers starting their independent career in the field of carbon capture, storage and utilization (CCUS). It highlights the essential role of young scholars in CCUS and aims to foster the next generation of leaders in this critical field. The early career researchers under evaluation need to 1) submit an abstract for either an oral presentation or a poster at 21^st ICCDU, 2) under the age of 35 years old (born after January 1, 1989), and 3) have published at least 1 paper in Journal of CO₂ Utilization in the last 3 years (2021 - 2023) as the first author or corresponding author preferably. 

The application/nomination package including a CV, nomination letter/personal statement, and PDF files of the published papers should be sent to ICCDU2024@dlut.edu.cn before April 30, 2024. The application package will be reviewed by the International Scientific Committee members of ICCDU 2024. 

The Journal of CO₂ Utilization offers a single, multi-disciplinary, scholarly platform for the exchange of novel research in the field of CO₂ re-use for scientists and engineers in chemicals, fuels and materials. The emphasis is on the dissemination of leading-edge research from basic science to the development of new processes, technologies and applications. This includes CO₂ as a feedstock in the chemical, energy and materials sectors, and utilization in general to help minimize environmental impact. ICCDU is the premier conference in the global research community of CO₂ utilization including CO₂ capture and CO₂ conversion, CO₂ utilization without conversion and emerging topics related to hydrogen energy, climate change, as well as and techno-economical and policy aspects. ICCDU 2024 will be the 21^st conference in the series and it is the third time that ICCDU will be held in the Shangri-La hotel located in the city center of Dalian, China.
